Huawei announced it expects to report $5bn in overseas sales this year, and expects 2005 sales to reach $8.5bn (with this result, Huawei will be entering the TOP 10 vendors). In addition, Huawei said it would expand further its business in the ASEAN region.

 

Dassault (France), a 3D software specialist, will buy Abaqus, a simulation software expert, for $413m.

 

Motorola has agreed to purchase $4bn of its outstanding shares of common stock over the next 36 months. It represents about 10% of Motorola's total market capitalization.

 

Nortel is looking to buy stakes in Indian outsourcing companies. Nortel outsources work for about $6bn per annum.

 

IBM and Nortel decided to work together on products for the telecommunications industry. They will establish a joint development center.
