With its RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive, Europe has tried to limit using six toxic elements in electronic devices. Greepeace has ranked companies making efforts to comply with this European decree. Nokia and Dell lead the ranking with 7 out of 10. Hewlett-Packard, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and Sony followed. Greepeace gave a red card to Apple, Acer, Motorola and Lenovo with globally ranking below 2 out of 10. Much is to be done on this matter.
