GSM in Americas

3G Americas is reporting that GSM has taken 51% of the market share in the Americas region, versus 38% last year. Growth has been driven by CDMA operators transitioning to GSM in CALA, where GSM accounts now for 63% of the total cellular market, while CDMA fell to 22%. GSM represents 57% of the Brazilian cellular mobile market, 77% in Argentina, 80% in Colombia, 71% in Mexico.
