Huawei has been selected by eMobile (Japan) to deploy its UTMS/HSDPA network. It made its first mobile inroads in the US market, selected by Leap Wireless to deploy a CDMA 2000 1X EV-DO Rev. A-capable network. It has signed a deal with Spain's Vodafone to provide the radio-access part of its HSDPA network in Spain. Huawei has been selected by ViVo (Brazil) to provide GSM products.
Oasys Mobile and Moderati have been selected by Sprint Nextel to manage the content-aggregation of its wallpapers and ringers.
Ericsson will supply major GSM expansion contracts in 17 regions, worth globally about $550m, with China Mobile. It has signed a 3-year managed services contract with PolkomTel (Poland) to manage its GSM/WCDMA networks. It has also won a circa $75m order from Telstra to upgrade its 3G network. Ericsson got an order from Telkomsel (Indonesia) for providing its 3G/WCDMA network in Indonesia. It also signed a managed services contract for its GSM/GPRS network with Bangladesh's Warid Telecom. It has also been selected by Vivo (Brazil) to supply GSM technology.
Nokia won Chunghwa Telecom's WCDMA/ HSDPA network upgrade order, and will provide additional 3G gear to TIM Hellas (Greece). It will provide mobile device management solutions to MegaFon in Russia.
ZTE has received CDMA EV-DO data cards order from Canadian Telus.
Siemens will set up a W-CDMA network in Kabul for Afghan Wireless Communication Company (AWCC). It has upgraded the mobile network of Saudi Telecom with W-CDMA technology in the northern part of Saudi Arabia.
