Mobile orders 05-14-05

NEC has received an order from MTS (Russia) for the delivery of Mobile Internet Platform and mobile handsets for its i-mode service.

Nortel received an expansion network order from BaykalWestcom, a major Eastern Siberian cellular operator. The order covers network capacity and coverage to 620k lines, GPRS upgrade and improvement in service quality.

Huawei signed a $54m GSM contract with Warid Telecom in Pakistan.
