Telecom Italia posted a net profit of 656m, up 10%, on revenues of 7.2bn, up 4%. The fixed line unit grew 1% to 4.3bn and the mobile unit grew 10%. EBITDA margin was almost 46% or 3.3bn ,up 4%.
Free (France) announced 139m in 1Q05 revenues, up 56%.
SES Global (Luxembourg-based satellite operator) posted a rise of 12% in net profit to 84m on flat revenues of 290m, but including 21m of recently-acquired Verestar and Digital Playout Center companies. EBITDA margin is as high as 70%.
Far EasTone (Taiwan) reported 1Q05 revenues of $182m and a net profit of $ 52m.
DoCoMo (Japan) announced 2004 results with revenues down 4% to $46.3bn, net profit up 15% to $7.2bn, and operating profit dropping 29% to $7.5bn. ARPU declined 2% to $68.9.
Cox Communications (USA) posted 1Q05 revenues of $1.7bn, up 11%, an operating income growing 25% to $219m, and a net income declining 53% to $27m.
NTL (UK) posted 1Q05 revenues of £517m, up 0.7%, made of 74% consumer(up 4%), 22% business (down 10%) and the rest from Ireland (up 10%). The operating income was £ 16.4m and net loss of £ 62.6m.
Global Crossing (US) announced 1Q05 results with revenues down 21% to $526m, gross margin of 39% (from 28%), EBITDA up to a loss of $28m (from $37m loss), and net loss of $107m.
UGC (USA) reported 1Q05 revenues of $798m, up 46%, and a net loss of $3m (vs. loss of $150m).Total European revenue increased 50% to $711m for the quarter.
