Marconi will shortly announce the results of its headcount and operations review following its failure to become BT’s 21CN supplier. In a first run, it will cut 800 jobs in the UK, but it is said that two thirds of its U.K. workforce could be concerned.

UTStarcom announced it will cut its worldwide work force by 17%, or 1400 jobs to be cut.
