IPTV is often said as the next Eldorado for telecom operators, bringing new revenue opportunities. But revenue opportunities are nor earnings, as said in a new research from Forrester Research. The main benefit of the study is to try letting operators considering reality and not hype. According to F.R., W.E. operators offering IPTV  services, should loss €3470 per subscriber over the first 10 years of their investment. So an IPTV business case is not yet valid as a standalone one. But the study does not conclude to escape IPTV services as well. It could be a good defensive strategy, if included in a triple play strategy, for operators to defend established subscriber bases.
