Convergent Billing:
Analysys is publishing a new report on Convergent Billing in Europe. They predict capex on fixed-mobile convergent billing systems (excluding spend on integration services, hardware and in-house effort) would increase by 36% over the next five years to $145m by 2010, from current $106m. The report highlights the dilemma facing operators to find the right balance between offering new converged packages and the cost of deploying the operational capability to deliver them. With multiple networks, devices, services and payment methods, the operator has to analyze how things are done today and how he has to reshape its own organization. To answer the requirements, vendors are introducing greater levels of configurability and productivity in their solutions.
