Nortel is providing mobilkom Austria with an HSDPA solution, and Telesur, a service provider in Suriname, with its nationwide GSM/GPRS network expansion.

Motorola is supplying its i265 phone model to Nextel.

Siemens has received an order from Medi Telecom in Morocco to supply a GPRS network.

Huawei won Umniah Mobile (Jordan) order for a GSM/GPRS/EDGE network, and a $200m order from Telecom Malaysia International Bangladesh (TMIB) for GSM upgrade. It also won an $ 80m order from Nigeria’s Vee Networks for the expansion of its GSM network.

ZTE will expand Libya’s Libyana GSM network under a $ 38m contract.
