Seven Asian mobile operators - Far EasTone (Taiwan), Hutchison Essar (India), Hutchison Telecom (Hong Kong), KTF (Sth Korea), DoCoMo (Japan), Indosat (Indonesia) and StarHub (Singapore) – announced that they have formed an alliance called "Asia-Pacific Mobile Alliance" to promote voice, video and data roaming in the current eight countries. The deal will create a virtual home environment among circa 100m cumulated subscribers of member operators.

Vodafone is mulling implementing its new strategy of converged services and could be interested in buying wireline operators. Tiscali UK or Bulldog could be a target, even if Vodafone and Tiscali have denied any current talk.

DT will have to welcome a new shareholder - US investment group Blackstone – which bought the 4.5% stake held by Germany 's KfW bank for €14 a share, or $1.6bn..

Microsoft should launching a new Windows Live service, called Live Drive, for on-line storage. The service should be the answer to Google on-line storage service.
