Triple Play is not enough
For the past two or three years, telcos and MSOs have rushed in the triple play (i.e. fixed voice, data internet and TV) market as a way to increase revenues, reduce churn and met customer demand of bundled services. To differentiate between themselves, some operators are trying to add a fourth element, mobile voice, and offer quadruple play services. They have in mind to anticipate any further demand for bundled services. Recently, NTL has bought Virgin Mobile; Sprint Nextel will create partnership with the main US MSOs to offer this quadruple play. Most European incumbents are re-integrating their mobile arm to enter the quadruple play market. So many moves are indicating that quadruple play is the next big thing for carriers and service providers.
