Tiscali (pan European ISP) reported 2004 revenues growing 20% to €1.1bn.

Hutchison Whampoa (Hong Kong) posted $ 22.7bn in 2004 revenues (up 23%), and $ 2.04bn in net profit (+38%). 3G operations reported a $3.2bn loss and an 8.1m 3G subscriber base, but are expected to contribute positively this year to the group’s result.

China Telecom announced 2004 profit are up 289% to $ 3.4bn, on revenues of $19.5bn (up 6.6%). China Telecom has 186.7m fixed subscribers (+16%), of which 42m PAS (wireless local loop), and 14m broadband users (up 91%).

Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan) reported 2004 revenues are up 1.5% to $5.9bn and net income was up 8% to $1.6bn. Revenues breakdown was: 39% for fixed, 32% for wireless and 21% for Data and Internet.

PT Indosat (Indonesia) posted 2004 revenues of $ 1.1bn (up 28%), an operating profit of $343m (up 38%), an EBITDA of $642m and a net profit of $173m. Revenues breakdown was: 71% from mobile, 15% from fixed and 14% from data & internet.

Orascom Telecom (Africa/ Middle East/ India Sub Continent) announced total revenues of $1.9bn in 2004 (up 88%), with Algeria contributing $800m (up 139%), Pakistan $ 406m (up 120%) and Egypt $354m (up 32%). The subscriber base grew 89% to 14.5m.

PCCW (Hong Kong) posted 2004 revenues of $2.9bn (up 1.5%), a net profit of $206m (vs loss in 2003). Fixed line revenues were down 8% to $ 1.9bn. For the first time in many years, PCCW reported a profit, as earnings are no more weighed down by provisions related to Reach, a 50-50 joint venture with Telstra.
