Bluetooth chooses WiMedia Alliance

Bluetooth will use the WiMedia Alliance multiband OFDM version of UWB. UWB enables radio transmissions at speeds up to 480Mbit/s at distances up to 3 meters. The first products with UWB should be available late 2007, with wider availability in 2008. It is a blow for the UWB Forum, a competing UWB standardization body.
