Africa passed 113m mobile subscribers by the end of 2005, and could increase at a CAGR of 22% to reach 378m users by the end of 2011. Current penetration is about 14% and could reach 42% by 2011.

Iliad (France) had 1.6m high-speed Internet subscribers last year.

Glo Mobile (Nigeria) now has a subscriber figure of about 5.5m.

France Telecom has crossed 1.35m VOIP subscriber base in Europe.
