Motorola announced the merger of its Networks and Government & Enterprise Mobility Solutions businesses . The new division will be named Networks & Enterprise.

Bookham has agreed to acquire Avalon Photonics, mainly strengthening its product portfolio by adding a new chip technology in which Avalon excells ( VCSELs ).

Huawei should have got an order from Telefonica , confirming its inroads in Europe after BT, Vodafone, Arcor, Telfort. The same source also said Huawei could announce another order from Telecom Italia soon.
