Reliance Communications (India) reported a net profit of $70m on revenues of $749m. They are first quarterly numbers after a contentious split from conglomerate Reliance Industries and no comparable figures are available from last year. The telecom group is made up of four units: fixed-line and CDMA operator Reliance Infocomm, GSM operator Reliance Telecom, Reliance Communications Infrastructure, and global networking provider FLAG Telecom.
Telesp (Brazil) announced a 4Q05 net profit of $318m, down 4.5%, on reveneus of $1,77bn, up 9%. For full-year 2005, Telesp reported net income of $120m (+16,5%) and EBITDA of $792m, up 5%.
Far EasTone (Taiwan) posted net profit of $453m, up 5%.
Sprint Nextel reported a 55% drop in 4Q05 net income to $197m, on revenues of $11.3bn. For the year, it posted a profit of $1,8bn (vs a loss) on revenues of $34,7bn, up 26%.
TDC (Denmark) posts 230% increase in 4Q05 net income to $701m, while sales rose 11% to $1.97bn. EBITDA rose 10% to $544m. For 2005, net income declined 25% to $1.2bn on revenues growing 10% to $7.4bn.
