Nokia and Ericsson are named preferred suppliers for IMS technology by Vodafone.
Cisco won an IP Transfer Point solution contract from Syniverse Technologies. It will deploy its RAN optimization solution in Telefonica Moviles' networks.
Alcatel has been selected by SingTel to offer video-streaming and television services over 3G. It will also deploy a mobile NGN solution in Russia for Vimpelcom. It also has been selected by T-Mobil to deploy a fully integrated interactive mobile TV solution in Europe. Alcatel has completed the full migration of O2 Germany's payment platform onto Alcatel' s prepaid and post-paid convergent payment solution. It will also deliver Telefonica Moviles a solution that enables the operator to offer advanced Interactive Video Services to its 3G users in Spain.
Ericsson won a $150m contract to expand Bangladesh's GrameenPhone GSM/EDGE network and prepare the core network for all IP. Another Bangladeshi mobile operator, Warid Telecom, has awarded a GSM contract for softswitches and media gateways. Ericsson is trialling GSM VoIP with Vimpelcom (Russia). It also has received an additional UMTS network expansion contract from Cingular Wireless for delivery of mobile broadband services. Ericsson will provide HSDPA to mobilkom Austria group.
Huawei has signed an agreement with Vodafone to supply exclusive Vodafone-branded consumer 3G handsets across 21 countries for at least 5 years.
Ben Q signed 3G handset procurement contracts with Vodafone and T-Mobile.
Nokia received a $170m contract from China Mobile affiliate, Henan MCC, for GSM/GPRS network expansion. It also received orders from DoCoMo for the FOMA NM850iG 3G WCDMA smart phone. Nokia also signed a frame agreement with C&W to supply 3G-WCDMA/ HSDPA radio and core networks in the 34 countries where C&W is operating.
Lucent is supplying extra RAN, core switching and software and services to support Cingular' s nationwide 3G service expansion.
Motorola won a $100m contract from Reliance (India) to supply GSM infrastructure equipment, and will deliver an HLR equipment to Orascom Pakistan (Mobilink) ,
