A recent survey of In-Stat reveals that up to 80% of both planned and current cellular subscribers would consider buying service from an MVNO. Coverage, service quality and price are the main drivers for deciding to choose an operator, but also payment flexibility and cash payment options, customized services for a community, for a market segment, ... .It is a real threat for established mobile operators in the saturated US and WE markets. ATLANTIC-ACM forecasts that prepaid mobile growth will significantly outpace postpaid growth through the end of the decade, and pre-paid calls are precisely the segment of low income, ethnic, youth, that require niche marketing and customized services. 71%of US pre-paid mobile subscribers should shift to MVNOs by 2010. In the EMEA region, Yankee Group forecasts that the number of MVNO subscribers would be 74m, or about 8% of all mobile subscribers by the end of 2009.
