Mobile operator strategies - 22/1/06

PLDT (Indonesia) plans to launch services in countries where Filipinos are settled in large numbers. Europe (1,5m), US (3m) and Middle-East (1m) are main targets. Already PLDT has MVNO arrangements in HK and Singapore.

Telecom Italia has sold 100% of Venezuelan mobile operator Corporacirn Digitel (Digitel) to Telvenco for $425m.

Telekom Austria has launched the first HSDPA network in Austria.
