More than 35m SMS sent in one hour
Between 0.00 am and 1.00 am on New Year's Day, French have sent 35m SMS to friends and relatives to wish a “Happy New Year 2006”. It is a record in Europe. Orange has sent 18.8m SMS (+20%), SFR 10.1m (+15%), and Bouygues Telecom 6.5m. 137m SMS have been sent over the whole 1st January.
A wonderful gift for mobile operators, given the huge profitability of SMSs.
