Motorola has launched the innovative new Motorola Residential Seamless Mobility Gateway (RSG) to break down the barrier between traditional home and wireless phone service and address the converged VoIP/cellular telephony. It also introduced a family of connected cordless phone systems, and an ambitious music radio service for cell phones, called iRadio, marking a rare foray into consumer services for Motorola.
Panasonic and Vonage are teaming up to develop a 5.8 GHz cordless broadband phone system.
Samsung has demonstrated the world's first 3.6 Mit/s HSDPA phone.
Huawei is expected to sell 25m mobile handsets in 2006, from 10m in 2005.
