[ Worldwide DSLAM port number increased 9% in 4Q04, and revenues were up 14% to $1.4bn, according to Infonetics. For the year, ports were up 18% and revenues were up 8% to $5bn. DSL subscribers rose 68% to 97m at the end of 2004, and could reach 190m in 2008. The IP DSLAM market was worth some $700m in 2004, up 58%. It could jump to reach 69% of total DSLAM market by 2008, from current 14% market share. Regional breakdown of the DSL market was 36% in EMEA, 33% in APAC, 23% in NA and 8% in CALA.
[ Always from Infonetics, the CMTS market grew 57% to $ 667m in 4Q04. Cable broadband users grew 22% to 41m at the end of 2004. NA account for 52% of the market in revenue, with EMEA following with 27% and APAC with 18% (but 25% in ports). The market is largely dominated by Cisco (above 50% market share), Motorola and Arris. Combined, they capture about 90% of the world market revenue.
