NSN and Panasonic have been selected to provide DoCoMo LTE base stations. NSN said also that it has been selected by Verizon Wireless as one of four vendors for a LTE trial.
NSN will provide IMS equipment to Chunghwa Telecom in a contract that is worth $32m. It will provide its Intellisync Wireless Email solution to ALJAWAL (Saudi Arabia).
Nokia has signed a deal with Telecom Italia Media to customize handsets for accessing its Ovi content. It is the third deal with Tier-1 operators after Vodafone and Telefonica.
Ericsson has been selected by MTS (Russia) to supply and deploy a 3G/HSPA network. It has signed a 5-year contract with T-Mobile UK for managed services. It will deploy its mobile music service, 3Music, in Sweden and Denmark, for 3G Scandinavia.
ALU selected by Celcom (Malaysia) for its GSM/EDGE network expansion. It will deploy a scalable mobile backhaul solution for Softbank (Japan). Carolina West Wireless is deploying ALU’ s pre-paid wireless hosted services.
ZTE is negotiating a 5m handset order with Vodafone.
Huawei has provided Mobitel Lanka (Sri Lanka) with a 3G HSPA network.
