Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular (all in India) are considering merging their tower operations.

Teliasonera is testing NFC (Near Field Communications) in Sweden.

Vimpelcom/ Armentel has been granted a 3G license in Armenia, as well as K-Telecom/MTS.
