  • Gartner predicts that Chinese telecom regulators are most likely to issue 3G licenses in the first half year of 2006.

  • The World GSM Association reported that Pakistan has received $950m in investment from six cellular companies so far during 2005 and the figures could further rise amid rising competition among the operators.

  • According to a new report from visiongain, the market for mobile CRM finally started to gain traction in 2004 and this has continued through 2005. The market is expected to be 20% of total CRM revenues by 2010.

  • The real time collaboration market has increased to more than $13bn, with more than $8bn coming from the audio conferencing and VOIP markets, according to a report from Research and Markets.

  • Japan would have 50m 3G subscribers in 2006, or account for 56% of total mobile subscribers. 3.5G service offerings would start in 2006 and 16m subscribers are expected in early 2007.

  • According to Gartner, 30% of US households would use only cellular or VOIP by 2010.

  • According to Nokia' s survey, only 37% of respondents were prepared to pay to download music over the Internet or onto their cellphones.
