A few set of market information released this week:

  • According to Informa, more than 430m SIP and UMA terminals would be sold in 2012.

  • According to Insight Research, FMC services would generate more than $35bn in revenue for service providers and hardware vendors.

  • According to Gallup survey, 40% of business users in Scandinavia are using mobile e-mail, when they are away from the office.

  • Render Vanderslice and Associates found that there were over 2m FTTH connections in the US, and almost 10m households passed, up 56%. Verizon accounts for 2/3 of FTTH household passed.

  • According to ABI Research, WiMAX is gaining serious momentum. Deployments are going on at high growth rate. Forecast of over 95m WiMAX subscribers using CPE devices by 2012 and 200m using mobile handsets.

  • According J.D. Power and Associates, family plans are the glue that keeps customers sticky to their operators.

  • According to the EU Commission, the new roaming tariff rules have allowed EU consumers to pay up to 60% less for using their mobile phone abroad.
