Subscriber figures - 29/09/07

Bangladesh-based Grameenphone has crossed the 15m mobile phone subscriber mark.

The total number of telephone subscribers in India has reached 241m at the end of August, up 4%.

Pakistan added 2.4m new subscribers in August, bringing its total of over 68m. Mobilink is the main MNO with 27.8m users.

China Mobile added 5.6m new subscribers in August, for a total of almost 344m.

China: there were 516m mobile users in China and 372m fixed line users at the end of August.

Brazil added 2.4m new mobile lines in August to bring its total to 111m.
