LATAM mobile subscribers reached 222m in 9/05, according to 3G Americas. GSM account for 47% with 104m users; TDMA has a 28% market share and CDMA 25%. More than 80% of GSM subscribers are in 5 countries: Brazil: 38m; Mexico: 22,6m; Colombia: 11m; Argentina: 7,5m and Chile: 6m.
China has 383m mobile subscribers (+48,5m in 2005 up to now), 348m fixed-line subscribers and 36m broadband users.
China Unicom added 1,2m new subscribers in Oct. bringing its total customers to 125.4m, of which 93,2m are GSM and 32,2m are CDMA.
China Mobile added 3,9m new users to reach a new total of 239m.
Euroset predicts Russia' s mobile teledensity would reach 42% by the end of this year and to 49% by the end of 2006, or respectively 61,3m real users and 71m. On average, there are 2+ SIM cards per subscriber.
Vodafone' s 3G subscriber base rose to 2m, about three years after the service's launch.
Orascom announced its total number of mobile subscribers is 25,5m (+125%) in Egypt, Algeria, Pakistan, Tunisia, Iraq, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe.
