  • IDC predicts that Western European HSDPA subscribers would be 40m in 2009.

  • According to Arcep (French regulator), 360k lines are currently unbundled (up 41% qoq) and unbundled coverage reaches 1.042 sites.

  • According to IDC, teleworkers were 650m worldwide, and could grow to 850m by 2009 or 25% of worldwide workers.

  • According to GfK, the European mobile phone market grew 10% in 3Q05.

  • ABI Research reports delays in deployment of Telco TV. ABI highlights issues related to franchising and regulatory matters in the NA market, and technical issues elsewhere as primary hindrances to telco TV deployments.

  • Infonetics Research expects that Voice Over WLAN usage would triple by 2007 to about 30%.

  • According to TeleGeography Research, ARPU, average revenue per user, has dropped 13% on average to $21.3 in 2005, with ARPU in Eastern Europe dropping 27%. In developed countries (US, WE, Canada), ARPU only dropped 2%. But TeleGeography also said some carriers with advanced services portfolio (i.e. 3 UK) can report ARPU that is higher than the regional average (i.e. 3UK reporting ARPU of $62 vs WE average of $ 37.4)
