China Unicom announced the launch of push-to-talk (PTT) services in China.

Essar Teleholdings has bought the 3% stake that Max Telecom held in Hutchison Essar Telecom. Essar Teleholdings' stake in Hutchison Essar grew to 33.6%, while Hutchison Telecommunications International stake is 49% and Kotak Holdings and Hindujas hold the remaining 17.4%.

TOT (Thailand) has finally received a 3G license from the National Telecommunications Commission.
