Mobile vendor strategy N49

Nokia will incorporate a single chip solution based on TI's Digital RF Processor (DRP) technology in its future mobile phones. STMicroelectronics is also working on single phone chip. 

NEC is setting up a 3G mobile phone R&D center in Beijing and has commenced production of 3G nodes in China. It also announced it has sold up to now more than 200,000 PASOLINK  (a PDH/SDH microwave system), of which some 90,000 in 2004.

Siemens has invested in wireless technology company PhoneBites.

Alcatel launches its 3G Reality Centre in Moscow

Huawei could help Siemens mobile phone unit to recover. Huawei did not make mystery of its strategy to enter the European phone market.
