T-Systems, data processing arm of Deutsche Telecom, could be mulling an alliance with Atos Origin (France), to form the second largest data processing company in Europe. The rumor has amplified in recent weeks, but the form of the alliance is not yet finalized. It could be a simple merger, or the creation of a common company. Atos Origin is a € 5.3bn company.
Intelsat has agreed to buy PanAmSat for $3.2bn. Intelsat will have the largest worldwide satellite fleet with 53 satellites covering 220 countries.
The rumor amplified in recent days: Vonage should be looking to go public, or to be acquired.
