Alcatel has won a MPLS-based metro Ethernet network order to be delivered to GTD, a Chilean telecommunications operator. It will supply, via Alcatel Shanghai Bell a new optical network to China Telecom. Alcatel will also deploy DSL gear for Volga Telecom in Russia.

Alcatel Space received an order from Boeing to develop next GPS III (global positioning system). The deal follows the end of rivalry between the US system (GPS) and the EU system (Galileo) signed in June 04, and is the first step of real compatibility between the two current systems.

Juniper will deploy Networks M- and T-series routing platforms in MSO’s COX Communications network.

Marconi will upgrade LEWTelNet's optical transport network in Germany with 10-Gbit/s. It will supply its softswitch platform to Gamma Telecom, the UK's fastest growing alternative service provider.

Sonus could have landed a significant new deal with Time Warner Telecom a VOIP upgrade worth between $ 15m and $20m.

Alvarion will expand Telecom Serbia broadband network with its wireless broadband solutions.

Intec, a leading OSS/BSS product vendor, has signed a new contract with Saudi Telecom Corporation (STC).

Westell Tech. will manufacture and deliver a cordless phone including a DSL modem, an 802.11g wireless router and a color touch screen to Verizon.

UTStarcom has signed a $120m order for PAS systems (WLL systems) with China Telecom and       $ 40m order with China Netcom. There currently are 65m PAS users in China.

Cisco won the Alice project ("America Latina Interconectada con Europa" or Latin America connected with Europe) from Dante, an organization that plans, builds and operates pan-European networks for research and education.

Seachange will supply both NTL and Telewest in the UK with a VOD solution.

Scientific Atlanta will supply Telewest (UK) with its personal video recorder (PVR) technology.

Convergys will provide Optus (Australia) with a customer care solution.

Siemens should get Cesky Telecom network maintenance operations in the near future.

Ericsson signed an exclusive managed services contract with H3G Italy. The network currently has 2.6m users.

ZTE will supply MobileOne (Singapore) with IN solutions.
