Worldwide telecom carrier capex

A new report from Infonetics Research provides some insight in the carrier capex. The carrier capex is increasing in all regions of the world, and would peak in 2009. Most of carriers have adopted a capex-to-revenue ratio in the 15% range, except in APAC where the ratio is a high 21%. The public service provider capes amounted at $216bn in 2006, and would reach $225bn this year (+7%). APAC would account for 34% of the total in 2007, followed by EMEA with 31% and NA with 29%, while top 15 service providers account for roughly 50% of the worldwide carrier capex spending.
