Mobile: 50% penetration in sight

There are now nearly 3bn (+5.6% qoq) mobile users in the world and they could be 3.25bn, or over half the world's population, by the end of the year. The mobile industry continues to follow strong demand, especially in India, China and Africa. Africa reports the highest growth rate, but just passed the milestone of 200m users. Europe reports over 100% penetration rate with around 666m connections.
