ALU will deploy broadband internet access (using WiMAX and RFID technology) in rural areas in Haiti to help farming communities in managing coffee production and pioneering agricultural telecenters. It has been selected by KPN as lead network integrator for advanced IP Centrex / VOIP Services for business markets.

UTStarcom won a deal with Telefonica del Sur to expand the operator's existing IP-based Personal Access System (fixed wireless system).
