BBC and YouTube have signed a deal. News and entertainment feeds from BBC will be displayed on YouTube video sharing web site.

Qtel (Qatar) has agreed to pay a record $3.7bn price (a premium of about 40%) for 51% stake in Kuwaiti cellular carrier National Mobile Telecom that operates under the Wataniya Telecom brand.

AllTel (USA) is rumored to be for sale.

Teliasonera and Telenor are again exploring merger, as Sweden plans to sell part of its stake in Teliasonera.

Lybia, through LIBYA Africa Portfolio Green com, is to invest in Uganda. Green com has acquired a 51% stake in Uganda Telecom (utl).
