Europe Telecom is not yet there

For months it was expected (by Germany) or a threat (from EU Commission): may an EU rule, already applied in most countries, be escaped by a government and a country? The answer is now YES. Germany has published a controversial new law that allow DT not to open its new fiber-optic network to competition. Germans do not seem afraid to be drag into EU court for anti-competitive law. The new German law will take effect today Feb. 24. What could happen now? Of course the EU Commission needs to react, but outside dragging the country to EU court and perhaps financial penalties, its basket of possible actions is limited. Can another (or more) country decide a similar approach, and infection spread over Europe like flu? Interesting to monitor!!
