Orange Romania could launch 3G service in Romania in 2006, after the launch of EDGE services in Oct. 2004.

Telekom Malaysia has joined the Asia Mobility Initiative (AMI), a regional mobile operator alliance. AMI has now some a 50m subscriber base.

Telmex (Mexico) could make a bid on Smartcom, the Chilean mobile services unit of Spanish utility Endesa.

DT could be interested to sell its T-Mobile USA assets. A decision should be taken by the end of the year.

DoCoMo is to expand FOMA 3G international roaming and videophone services in Europe and Asia. Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Germany and Italy will be progressively reached before the end of July. 

Telecom Italia will initially invest some $ 200m in the Oger consortium that won the bidding for Turk Telekom (Turkey).
