Fujitsu: 2006 financial results

Fujitsu reports 4Q06 revenues of $10bn, up 7%, operating income of $60m, down 43%, and net income of $10m, down 66%. Sales of optical transmission systems and UNIX servers increased in markets abroad, but mobile base stations sales delined in Japan. The Technology Solutions segment sales (which includes System Platforms and services) rose 7% to $6bn and operating income was $122m, up 29%. The Ubiquitous Product solution segment (including mobile phones, PCs and hard disk drives) sales amounted to $2.3bn, up 7%, and delivered $9m in operating income, down 81%. Fujitsu has reduced its FY 2006 projection for net sales to $42.8bn (-2%) and reduced its operating income in the Device Solutions segment by $84m. Full-year projections for operating income and net income, however, remain unchanged, respectively at $1.6bn and $670m.
