Motorola plans to launch 3G mobile phones based on TI customized chips. TI could sell as much as $25 worth of chips per handset. TI would also supply Motorola with WiMAX chips for its future handsets available in 2008.
Nokia has signed an agreement with CDC Mobile to pre-install CDC Mobile's proprietary software in selected Nokia cell phones sold in China.
ZTE has obtained the first license for its TD-SCDMA/GSM dual-mode mobile phones. It has signed a licensing agreement with Kodiak Networks .
Sony Ericsson has signed manufacturing agreements for low-cost handsets in India, with Flextronics and Foxconn.
