Verizon Wireless continues to expand the availability of its CDMA2000 1x EV-DO in the US. It now can reach 100m pops and is available in 33 of the nation's top 50 markets.

 

Nigeria: a new GSM operator, Jigawa Public Hand System (PHS), has started operations.

 

Vodafone Portugal has launched a Push to Talk service, using a Nokia handset.

 

Telstra (Australia) is trailing 3G service.

 

MTS Belarus (Belarus) plans to invest $100m in developing its network in 2005.

 

Chunghwa Telecom (Taiwan) plans to launch 3G service in July, almost at the same time with rivals Far EasTone Telecommunications (July 24) and Taiwan Mobile (May).
