Telcos are turning to MPEG4
MPEG4 is a new video compression standard. Its main advantages are to be cost-effective, better quality than MPEG2 with about half the bit rate of MPEG-2 streams, and able to deliver High Definition quality channels. So it is very interesting for telcos entering the video fray.
Tut, Harmonic and Tandberg have already products, while many others will be ready soon once related chipset is widely available.
