Mobile TV interest test ?
But is it a survey and can results be trusted? 50 families in Sweden were lent a Nokia N92, which has mobile TV reception, and were asked to test the service during two months. The results, announced by the two sponsors Teliasonera and Nokia, include that 66% of of total mobile TV watching takes place in the home, with a majority of users mainly watching mobile TV in the morning between 7AM and 8AM and in the evening between 5PM and 10PM. On average, viewing last about 30mn. The test shows that there is considerable interest in and demand for mobile TV, and that people expect to pay to watch TV via their mobiles and they prefer to pay a fixed monthly fee. They were pleasantly surprised by their TV-watching experience despite the small screen. The too low number of respondents in the sample, the too big implication of the sponsors that are also vendors, do not plead for trusting this test. A more serious study, conducted by independent sponsors, has yet to be done on the subject.
