Radio' s dangers

Typical exposure to low level electromagnetic radiation from WiFi is well below recommended levels, so a year sitting in a classroom near a wireless network is roughly equivalent to 20 minutes calling on a mobile phone. It is worth noting that mobile phone network, FM radio and TV are producing signals with similar strength to that from Wi-Fi. This the soft version, in response to parents, schools, local authorities asking for dismantling WiFi hotspots, masts in mobile networks, microwave transmitters, etc.

A concern, however, is raised by electromagnetic radiation exposure guidelines mainly designed to protect against gross heating effects and not long-term exposure to low levels of microwaves. The waves should interfere with the body's own normal internal electro-chemical systems, leading to serious health problems, and growing children may be more affected than adults.

What is sure is that not everybody is affected by electromagnetic radiation in the same way. Related studies shows that a subgroup of the population appears to suffer distressing symptoms when exposed to this type of radiation. And 5% of the population is commonly thought to have this sensitivity.
