Eircom (Ireland) has started work on its fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC) network upgrade.

Cablevision (Mexican MSO) and Bestel have signed a deal to joint venture telephony services from 02/07.

Noos/Numericable is only third (after Free and Erenis) to announce 100Mbit/s speed to access Internet in France, but is the first to market in opening 100Mbit/s acces in 10 cities in France from Dec. 4. The offer, called Net 100 Méga, will cost €30 per month.

Offices (including government offices) and schools throughout Taipei (Taiwan) are switching to VoIP systems from traditional phone lines. 90% of the city is covered with a WiFi network.
