HSDPA rollout

According to GSA‘s new survey on HSDPA deployments in the world, there are 73 networks in 42 countries using HSDPA technology. This number has increased by more than 50% in the last three months (25 networks), and could reach 130 by the end of the year. HSDPA appears to be taking the lead in global deployments against competing high-speed technologies such as EV-DO (9 new networks in 3Q06) and is likely to be the dominant evolutionary path for mobile networks. On the offer side, 19 suppliers are providing 32 mobile phones and 34 HSDPA devices. HSDPA has been deployed in 18 European countries (four more to come), in the USA and Canada, in 10 Asian countries, and 6 MEA countries. it is notable that no deployments of HSDPA are planned across Latin America.
