Lucent 3Q06 results

Lucent reported its final 2006 fiscal quarter with revenues of $2.6bn, up 5%, and net income of $371m, flat. Mobile deployments in NA and IMS have driven the performance. Gross margin in 3Q06 was a good 44%, but down 2 points yoy. Lucent had $3.4bn in cash and marketable securities. Revenues in the US grew sequentially 40% and 17% yoy to $1.8bn; outside the US, revenues increased 1% qoq and was down 14% yoy to $0.79bn.

For the fiscal year, Lucent announced revenues of $8.8bn, down 7%, and $527m in net income, down 56%.

Lucent shares were up 7% following announcements, trading at $2.50.
