Thai telecommunications regulator NTC has allocated spectrum for WiMAX services.

Russia has issued WiMAX license to Vimpelcom, while Megafon has submitted a bid for WiMAX frequencies.

FT Orange reinforces its position in the French ADSL market, adding some 1.5m new subscribers in one year and increasing its market share to 50.5%. It also increased its position in the European market with over 9m subscribers (+36%).

Rostelecom (Russia) and Beltelcom (Belarus) have agreed to build a fibre-optic communications line, the second broadband channel with Belarus.
